TOOLFEST 2017

A couple of years back, I started volunteering at The Foundry. I immediately fell in love with its mission to increase neighborhood prosperity through education and entrepreneurship. As someone who has a goal to open a small business one day this place was the perfect space for me to be in. This past summer when they were hiring, I knew that I had to apply and get my dream job! The Foundry is home to 35 product based small businesses and is a place where ideas flow freely. In addition to assisting small businesses the Foundry offers youth and adult classes in woodworking. metal working, tech, fiber, and glassblowing. 

ToolFest is a tool drive and fundraiser that supports The Foundry's shared makerspaces. The tools from from the event will be used for hands-on programs for youth, to support small businesses and for everyone to enjoy. Last year The Foundry received CNC routers from National Grid, ventilation equipment from J.W. Danforth Company, grinders, clamps and more! This year, National Grid has committed to donating a Ultimaker III 3D Printer. I can't wait to see what other cool tools they'll get this year!
